    Bank Holidays

    That is the Easter bank holiday done and dusted, May has 3 Bank Holidays, 1 May is the next, the early May bank holiday, 8th May is an addition for 2023, it's the bank holiday for the coronation of King Charles III, and finally, 29th May, the spring bank holiday, so hopefully on one of those weekends the weather may be decent. After the May bank holidays there is only August bank holiday, on the 28th, and then it's Christmas before the next one!     For many people who use a wheelchair, a simple task such as going shopping or to a Dr's appointment is a nightmare, bus services on the island are patchy at best, and the only other option would be to book a taxi and ensure there was enough space in the boot of the car for the wheel chair, and ask for assistance to get out of the chair and into the vehicle, and that’s assuming they can transfer, these sort of obstacles can take away peoples independence, if your wheelchair bound, then the anchors are well laid into the ground preventing users from getting out and enjoying the area!

    From day one that has been something Neil and Jan have wanted to change and something they have acted on, as a result iCars have several vehicles available to customers, and since they have come into use we have a legion of delighted customers, we have eliminated the indignity of transferring a customer from their chair into a car, now the car pulls up the ramp slides out and in you go, travelling in your own chair, and there is no extra charge for this service!
