    Jayden Gets A Lift!

    well, a specialised jack actually. As part of our sponsorship of a local talented Quad bike rider, Jayden Garrett, we were able to meet up with him yesterday at BRFM's studios and hand over a new jack, which will make life much easier for Jayden's dad, Gareth in-between races to make repairs and adjust the quad bike.



    Directors Jan and Drew were there to hand over the jack and Pete was there to interview the family for BRFM, you can hear the interview on BRFM this Friday.


    Quad bike racing is an expensive business, and Jayden's parents Chauntelle and Gareth are looking for sponsors, they are not looking for financial sponsorship, they are looking for potential sponsors to purchase a specific item, it could be tools, could be spare parts or even specialised oils.     For many people who use a wheelchair, a simple task such as going shopping or to a Dr's appointment is a nightmare, bus services on the island are patchy at best, and the only other option would be to book a taxi and ensure there was enough space in the boot of the car for the wheel chair, and ask for assistance to get out of the chair and into the vehicle, and that’s assuming they can transfer, these sort of obstacles can take away peoples independence, if your wheelchair bound, then the anchors are well laid into the ground preventing users from getting out and enjoying the area!

    From day one that has been something Neil and Jan have wanted to change and something they have acted on, as a result iCars have several vehicles available to customers, and since they have come into use we have a legion of delighted customers, we have eliminated the indignity of transferring a customer from their chair into a car, now the car pulls up the ramp slides out and in you go, travelling in your own chair, and there is no extra charge for this service!
